Welcome to My Blog
Why I started writing, who I am, and what you will find here -- from digital transformation war stories to raising kids in the AI era.
Welcome to the Blog 👋
So here's the thing — I've been thinking about starting this for a while. Not in the "I should really go to the gym" way where you never actually go. More like a slow-building itch that finally needed scratching.
This is the first post. The flag in the ground. Consider it a handshake.
Who Am I?
Short version: I'm a tech executive, ex-McKinsey consultant, and recovering entrepreneur who's spent 20+ years at the intersection of technology and business — building things, breaking things, and occasionally fixing the things I broke.
The longer version: I started out as an IT director in Sofia, co-founded a couple of companies (a call center and a software house), then spent eight years as an Associate Partner at McKinsey in Prague and London. I was part of the gloriously geeky "Digital McKinsey" arm — the folks who actually understood what was inside the black box. In my last three years there, I helped establish an internal joint venture with McKinsey's Recovery & Transformation practice, which meant I had to actually implement the things we put on slides. Turns out, that's a completely different sport.
Today I'm a Senior Vice President at Maersk in Copenhagen, where I lead platforms across Forwarding, First-Mile Transportation, Technology Operations, Finance, and Technology M&A. Before that, I spent several years managing Maersk's digital channels — maersk.com (one of the largest B2B platforms on the planet, handling $40 billion in revenue and powering 90%+ of operations through integrations with ports, customs, partners, and clients worldwide), API/EDI integrations, and TradeLens, a blockchain platform aimed at digitizing global trade.
Oh, and my master's degree? Aviation engineering. Because apparently I like complex systems in every domain.
What You'll Find Here
This blog will cover the things I genuinely can't stop thinking about:
- Digital Transformation (for real, not the buzzword version) — What it actually takes to transform a Fortune 500 company. Not the consultant deck version. The version where you're in the room at 9 PM realizing the org chart is fighting the architecture and both are losing. The wins, the scars, the lessons.
- Building & Scaling Products — From B2B platforms processing billions in transactions to SaaS products I built from a small office in Sofia — what works, what doesn't, and why most roadmaps are fiction.
- Leadership & Teams — Forming and leading high-performing teams across cultures, time zones, and corporate politics. The human side of transformation that no framework captures.
- AI, Blockchain & Emerging Tech — Not the hype. The practical stuff. Where these technologies actually create value and where they're still expensive science projects.
The goal isn't to be comprehensive. It's to be useful. Short when short works. Long when the idea demands it. No filler posts about "10 ways to synergize your workflow." Life's too short.
How Often?
I'm aiming for one post per week — consistent enough to build a real body of work, ambitious enough to keep me honest. I run platforms that move physical goods across oceans; I know what sustainable throughput looks like. But I also know that cadence creates discipline, and discipline creates clarity.
Why a Blog in 2026?
Fair question. The honest answer is simple: writing clarifies thinking.
If I can't explain something clearly here, I probably don't understand it well enough yet. After two decades of advising, building, and leading — from McKinsey boardrooms to Maersk's global platforms — I've accumulated a lot of hard-won lessons that deserve more than a LinkedIn post.
Social media optimizes for reactions. A blog optimizes for thinking. I wanted a place where ideas get room to breathe — where a piece can be 300 words or 3,000, and neither is wrong.
What's Next?
The first real post drops soon. In the meantime, if you've made it this far — thanks. Seriously. The internet is an overwhelming place and you chose to spend a few minutes here.
Stick around. It'll be worth it.
Got thoughts, feedback, or want to say hi? Drop me a line.
